- Intellectual property management, Keeping track of applications on IPR timeline renewals, preparation of information for supply of information to IPR Cell, ICAR, New Delhi and ZTMC, CIFT, Kochi, for commercialization, identification of potential IPRs (trademarks, patents, etc.), drafting of IPR registration applications.
- ITMU provide consultancy services and popularize the innovations for the overall development of fishery industry
- ITMU has identified the most commercially viable technologies available from institutes and prepared the business plan based on the cost and economic details, such as investments required, rate of return, cost benefit ratio etc.
- ITMU is in the process of integrating single window management in various functional units in the institute
